Project Proposals
BACK LANE WEST provides space to test ideas; for active, critical, cultural production and debate rather than for the routine display and consumption of art. The project supports investigation, exploration and enquiry, and is concerned with enabling and sustaining developments in practice. BLW also provides a venue for meeting, discussion and the exchange of ideas, and aims to contribute to the development of a connected, critical, cultural community.
Artists, artists' groups, collaborators, curators, producers and writers are invited to submit proposals for projects or events to research/produce/present/discuss new work or to curate group projects. Time allocated to any given project can range from two weeks to one month.
Back Lane West is a self-funded project and currently does not receive any external funding, we therefore ask for a contribution of £120 for each project - negotiable according to time/resources - towards costs of maintaining the space.
In the first instance, contact the BLW directors to discuss residency/project/event ideas and to arrange a site visit.
