Opportunities & Engagement

BLW’s core programme is grounded in its artists’/artist groups’ self-funded residencies, projects and events. As an artist-led initiative our aim is to provide a supported space and critical community to allow artists to develop work and professional practice; to explore and experiment not only with practice, but also in terms of audience engagement and involvement.

We therefore welcome residency/project/event applications – from individual artists, collaborators, artist groups, curators, writers, arts organisers….

We ask a small fee of £200 for artist residencies/projects lasting up to a month at BLW – £150 for up to 2 weeks – to help cover our costs. We are happy to support artist applications for external funding, please get in touch if you’d like to find out more.

We are currently welcoming applications for 2020.

The next available residency dates are:
6th January  – 2nd February, 2020
3rd February  – 1st March, 2020
2nd – 29th March, 2020

We will also accept applications for later in the year – standard residencies last 4 weeks beginning on the first Monday of the month.
