Lives and works in France.
Romain Bobichon was in residence at Back Lane West throughout May
In Redruth, Romain Bobichon started a new project about power. The residency was time-based research to experiment with the exhibition space as an editing space. The content was based on intimate experiences Romain Bobichon had with his native environment, thoughts on people who have the power, fictional contexts to develop writing processes and a physical approach to edit. The Back Lane West exhibition space served as a performative space to paint, to draw, to make collages and to activate the in-process content.
Romain is a multi-disciplinary artist who works in the fields of painting, sculpture and music. He is interested in historical contexts and the material properties of the spaces of diffusion. Romain Bobichon is curious, ready to experiment in spaces such as exhibition spaces, books, streets. He lived in Quimper, Rennes, Clermont-Ferrand, Lyon, Toulouse, Nantes and he now lives in Saint-Beauzile (Tarn). He has been exhibited in institutions, artist run-spaces, worked with friends and he alternates between solo works and collaborations.
